(Iran's Environment News Agency) , Sept 21,  Vice-President and Head of Department of Environment ,Massoumeh Ebtekar, on Saturday planted a sapling as a token of peace and friendship in Pardisan Park in west of the capital.

Ms Ebtekar, planted the sapling to commemorate International Day of Peace, September 21.

Addressing the ceremony, she referred to the upcoming trip to New York of President Hassan Rohani, saying it will prmote international peace.

The Middle East region, she said, has been witnessing various wars and conflicts which have inflicted serious damage on the environment.
